It is a natural reaction to everyday challenges and changes in the context of life situations and patterns learned early in life. Both positive and negative situations can create the feelings of being overwhelmed and out of control. How we handle life's stresses, and how that impacts our overall health has been a special interest of mine since the early 1980s. This led to my producing a series of relaxation videotapes almost ten years ago for use in hospitals. The Seasons of Healing videos distributed by New Voices Productions were used by more tha 600 hospitals throughout the United States and Canada. A couple of years ago, I began writing a series of brief Stress Tips to share some of the practical insights coming out of contemporary research that continues around stress. Through these pages I hope to continue that writing process during this coming year, as well as sharing some of the other resources that are available.
