There is still time to register for one of the October online seminars. Individuals can participate from anywhere and according to his or her own schedule. Registration closes this Thursday, October 1, and seminars begin on Monday, October 5. The seminars offered are:

  • Baseball, Ghosts, and Field of Dreams: The Journey Toward Wholeness
  • Care at the End of Life
  • Fighting the Tiger: The Psychological and Spiritual Effects of Emotional Trauma
  • Preaching and Pastoral Care
  • Spirituality of the Ghost Story
  • Working (and Ministering) with Net Gens 101

Each of these seminars have been approved for 12 contact hours of continuing education credit. The Oates Institute is an Approved Provider of continuing professional education with the National Board of Certified Counselors. These continuing education credits may be used to satisfy credentialing requirements for chaplains, counselors, social workers, and health care ministers.

Each of these seminars are three weeks in duration and utilize the Oates Institute's Connected Learning approach to provide participants with the benefits of interactive and reflective peer group learning. Registration for each of the seminars is limited to 12 participants.

Portraits of Forgiveness Online Gallery Open
Portraits of Forgiveness logo
For everyone who did not have the opportunity to see the Simple Gifts: Portraits of Forgiveness collection of watercolors by Louisville artist Jim Mahanes when it was exhibited in San Antonio, Texas, and Louisville, Kentucky, it is now on display in an online gallery at the Oates Institute. All thirty paintings in the collection may be viewed.
