Exploring Celtic Spirituality

February 4-22, 2008
Presenters: Daniel Meister, D.Min.

12.0 contact hours

In today’s era of postmodernity, a renewed interest has surfaced in all things Celtic. Popular forms of music, art, and spirituality are attracted to and seeking conversation with this ancient religious and cultural tradition. Is there something that Celtic Christian spirituality possesses that a modern approach to life and faith lack? Why are people drawn to the Celtic tradition and how can it play a purposeful part in informing and fulfilling the spiritual lives of those who are seeking greater wholeness and sensitivity to creation and the world around us?

This seminar will engage participants in exploring the unique contributions and major distinctions of Celtic Christian spirituality. Each of participant will be encouraged to "Select-A-Saint" to journey with through the seminar. Participants will also be invited to locate a piece of Celtic art, music, or poetry and discuss why these expressions are meaningful for us today as postmodern people. Finally, participants will explore the empowering nature of labyrinths as it relates to our development as people seeking strength, wholeness, and life.
